Smart Buzzer Addresses Google Review Bug Affecting Client Ratings

Portland, Oregon - February 9, 2025 – We aware of a recent issue reported by the community regarding discrepancies in Google Business Profile reviews. This issue has led to inaccurate review counters being displayed for some businesses.

Reports from users on X (formerly Twitter) indicate that many Google Business Profile accounts are showing review counts that do not align with the actual number of live, published reviews.

For example, some businesses are displaying 56 reviews on their profile, but after checking, users are able to count 66 reviews, highlighting a mismatch between the visible count and the actual review total.

This issue appears to affect smaller accounts, where users have conducted spot checks on approximately 20 random Google Business Profiles with a small number of reviews. In each case, the displayed review counter was found to be incorrect, but the actual published reviews remain intact.

What you need to know:

  • Google Business Profile’s review counter is currently displaying inaccurate review counts.
  • This issue does not affect the actual live, published reviews.
